Download guideSpinal fusion is a surgical procedure to mechanically link two parts of the spinal column together, usually using screws, rods, cages or plate, in order to reduce movement in this section of the spine. Bone graft, either from your own bone or artificial bone, is applied between the ‘linked’ spinal column, to allow it to ‘fuse’ as one solid unit.
